Asher came awake from the darkness only to find there was really not much in the way of light still. He knew he was in his room, he'd been there when the ship had started going down. Mentally he also knew that things were not where they were supposed to be. The furniture had all been part of the ship, bolted in place, and if it hadn't he might not have survived. Anything that hadn't been bolted down was strewn across everything else. He stood up and made his way to the partially open door. He peeked out. He could tell from how he was standing, but looking into the hall made it that much more obvious that the ship wasn't lying flat and the floor seemed sloped because of this. "Hello?" he called out, stepping out of the room. Really he wasn't sure if he was more or less safe in there so he wasn't too keen on staying. "Hello?" He reached instinctively for his glasses, despite not needing them, only to find them missing from his shirt pocket. They were probably buried in the mess that had been his quarters. They don't matter anymore anyways. What I need to do is find someone else. He started moving down the sloped floor continuing to call out. There was another goal on his mind too. Get out of here. He didn't really want to be here when whoever shot them down showed up. Part of him knew that would be a when, not an if. ((The start for this, and background for the new plot, can be found here.))

"Wh- What happened?" Agari asked no one. He sat up and leaned against the hallway wall. He felt dizzy and all his thoughts were muddled. He touched his head and could feel some blood in his hair that had scabbed over. Then the memories started to come back, slowly.
Shortly after they had arrived in a new system, the alarms on the ship went off. So, like a dutiful member of the ship, Agari headed briskly toward his quarters in order to secure himself for whatever danger they were facing. He was just a scientist, so he wasn't privileged with that sort of information until after the fact. On his was to his quarters, they must have been hit or something because the last thing he remembered was being slammed into a wall.
Agari tried to stand up, but got dizzy half-way, so he sat back down. "Hello? Hello?" he heard someone ask a few times.
"I'm over here!" he called out. "It's Agari, the biologist!" He tried to stand up one more time, succeeding, but this time noticing that the floor was at an angle. That may have accounted for some of his disorientation since in space no matter which direction the ship was oriented, the floor was level. That meant that either the artificial gravity was malfunctioning, or they were somewhere other than outer space. Somewhere with gravity. And poorly docked as well.

"Ugh....." Liara groaned. She brought her hand to her forehead.....god it hurt more than usual. She tried to remember what had happened. Then it hit her. They had been shot down by a ship. Which is why the bridge now looked like the mess that it was in. She saw others on the bridge but they were all either unconscious....or dead. She couldn't tell at the moment.
She knew she couldn't do much for them right now, so she decided to get off the bridge and find more of her crew to help them out. She started to get up but fell right back down immediately and let out a yelp of pain. It was then she noticed that a piece of metal from the ship had gone through her leg. "Shit......" she muttered under her breath as she looked at it. Looks like she wasn't going to be walking right now.....
Since walking was out of the question, she began to crawl the best she could off the bridge. That piece was going to have to be removed, but she knew she didn't have the skills to do it. She soon reached the doorway and took a breather. It was harder to move than she thought it would be. "Hey!" she called out. "Anyone! Report to the bridge! I need some help!"

"I'm over here! It's Agari, the biologist!" Asher darted forward at the sound of the familiar voice. He couldn't really see Agari at the moment, but he knew he was near. "Agari! It's Asher!"
He kept running, finally coming to a halt when he had found the biologist. "What the heck was that? Or do you not know any more about this than I do?" Asher wasn't even a crew member. He was a civilian passenger and thus didn't find out much of anything unless it was necessary and even then he'd be among the last to find out.
He didn't have long to wonder what was going on though. He heard another shout, faintly. "Hey! Anyone! Report to the bridge! I need some help!"
"Is it just me, or did that sound like the captain?" His gaze was down the hallway, and after a moment he mentally started wondering why he was waiting for an answer to do anything. The person needed help no matter who it was. "Come on," he said, before he took off running toward what he hoped was the direction the sound had come from.

Leo groaned as he forced himself off the floor of the engine room. Unlike his fellow mechanics he hadn’t had the fortune of being knocked out instead he was laying on the ground, unable to function, for several minutes. After regaining motor control, he wasn’t unharmed either. His right shoulder was making a crunch sounding and something was off with his optical units. Shaking his head he tried to focus but they stayed grainy.
“Great,” grumbled as he walked, holding a hand out in front of him in case his depth perception was off as well. He reached the com box and pressed the button that connected him to the bridge. “What the hell is going on up there?” He demanded and waited for a response. The static that came back over the system was not comforting, especially since it should have been silence. Static meant something was wrong with his com, his message may not even have gotten through. If it did he doubted he could hear the response.
Sighing, Leo navigated his way through the wreckage to find a way out of the engine room. The ladder up to the main decks was, he decided, to be the best path since he wasn’t up to trusting the lifts. If the doors opened it was no guarantee that he wouldn’t get trapped inside. Leo made it to the same floor the bridge was on despite his shoulder and kicked open the panel leading to the hall. He blinked and frowned at the darkness, ship wide power outages were never good. As he ran through all of the cases he heard voices and stepped into the hall looking at the two men that were moving. If he knew them he couldn’t recognize them through the snow in his optics.
“Either of you know what’s going on?” he asked as he followed them to the bridge.

"I have no idea. But it sounds like the captain needs help on the bridge. Come on," Agari said, motioning to Leo. Not that he knew that was the person's name. Agari started walking quickly down the hall, following Asher and avoiding debris as well as he could manage.
As he moved, Agari wondered exactly how he would be able to help on the bridge. He knew next to nothing about flying a ship or battle tactics. But she had asked for anyone, which included him, so he would go. Although he did know quite a bit of first aid... But that knowledge was mostly gained as a byproduct of his other studies, so he wasn't too confident in his abilities to apply it. Nonetheless, he was at the bridge now so he would find out soon enough.
"Captain!" he said when he caught sight of her in the doorway to the bridge. "What happened? The ship. Your leg! We need to get you to a med station!"

Liara waited there in the doorway, hoping someone had heard her. She wasn't gonna make it very far anywhere with a piece of metal in her leg. She couldn't believe how much damage the ship had taken......it was worse than anything they'd experienced before. She soon stopped thinking about the damage that had been done as she noticed three people approach.
The three people happened to be Agari, Asher, and Leo. Good, it seemed like at least some people survived the crash. Agari immediately came up to her asking what had happened and then noticed her leg. He then started saying how she needed to get to a med station and shook her head. "Let's not worry about me yet," she told him. She then pointed towards the bridge. "There are still people in there. I don't know who's dead or who's unconscious. Either way, we take care of them first. Understand?"

Leo slowed to a walk as he neared the bridge. He kneeled down next to the Captain and tried to get a look at her leg after hearing Agari comment on it. Damn, he was going to have to fix his optics. At this rate he was lucky he could still tell the difference between colors and hadn’t switched to gray scale.
He glanced in the direction the Captain pointed and for a moment narrowed his eyes. Sighing he turned back to her, “I can’t help them unless they have gears in them ma’am.” Also if he tried anything, like heavy lifting, who knows what his shoulder would have done.
At that reminder Leo stood and leaned against the nearest wall as out of the way as possible. Touching his shoulder he started a quick diagnostic. It wouldn’t be able to tell him exactly what was wrong but it would tell him how deep in the woods he was. As it started a set of clear numbers appeared against the fuzz that was his vision and Leo’s mouth turned up at that. Even without the read out he could tell there was something either wrong with his eyes themselves or the connections, not a more critical system.
“Small miracles,” he muttered to himself as he opened his eyes. A person walked in front of him and snorted shaking their head. Leo raised an eyebrow at them first in annoyance but continued when he noted they were not being obstructed by the snow. He blinked and tried to follow the person’s movements but they were already gone.
He was about to say something when a small warning popped up on the diagnostic screen. Apparently his vital systems were intact but he was still losing fluids from one of his more secondary functions. It wasn’t pooling in a part of his body, which could only mean he was bleeding out somewhere. Swearing, Leo opened his eyes and began trying to search for the injury. Usually he thought it was a good thing not to feel pain, now however, it sucked.

Agari didn't want to just leave the captain there in pain, but he figured she knew best what to do in their current situation. After a quick glance around at the others present, he turned back toward the captain and nodded. "I'll go check it out inside the bridge. See if I can help at all. Just try not to move that until someone can take a look at it," he said, pointing to the nasty piece of metal sticking out of her leg.
As Agari entered the dimly lit room and his eyes adjusted, he gasped at the horrific scene. There were bodies everywhere. It was impossible to tell who was alive and who had already passed on. He saw someone stirring and he quickly rushed over to help. "Are you okay? How many fingers am I holding up? Can you wiggle your toes?"
As Agari rambled as the woman regained her consciousness, his gut tightened in a fit of queasiness. Right behind her was a man with his head at an impossible angle, his neck clearly broken. Agari wanted to vomit right then and there, but somehow managed to control himself. "Lets get you out into the hallway." He knew the right thing to say would have been to stay still and don't move, but he didn't really care at this point. He just wanted to get himself and this lady away from the gruesome dead body.
As he helped the woman to her feet, he noticed some flickering light across the room. It didn't look like a busted light. It looked more like... "Fire!" Not a second after he said it, he heard a scream coming from behind a pile of debris right near the flames. Agari wasn't sure what to do.

Asher had kind of been out of it once they reached the bridge. His instinct had been do to something, but he'd frozen. He was a civilian. He'd never needed to pull his own weight around here until now. Now that he was being asked to, even expected to, he had no clue what he should do. Thus he froze and didn't do anything until he heard Agari shout about the fire.
Asher's eyes flew in that direction. Even if his sight hadn't been 20/20 he'd have seen the flickering flames. He heard a groan from a person next to him and went over to them. Other than a leg twisted in an odd position they looked fine. "Let's just get them out of here, as many people as we can!"
There was no authority behind that voice. It was being tossed up as a suggestion while he tried to figure out how to pick up and move the person. Hopefully that wasn't a bad idea. If it was.... well, he figured he couldn't do more damage than letting them burn alive.

Leo really didn’t like being on the bridge. He was injured and surrounded by people, really noisy panicky people. The fear of death tended to have that effect. Thing was though even with all the chaos and screaming, there was still a chance someone would see him bleeding out and comment on it when there was less chaos. The second the survivors needed food, water, or a part to get the Destiny back in the air Leo could bet that he’d be put up for sale. Never mind that he was probably their best mechanic or the hours he’d put into keeping the ship afloat.
At the shout of fire Leo’s head snapped up. Crap that made things complicated. He abandoned his search for his wound and turned his attention to the area around him. The Destiny had a fire safety system that released a thick powder that smothered the flame it landed on. Much better than a water system given the amount of electronics, electrocution and frying the computers would have been a bad way to go about things. Also the clean up was easier, just get a vacuum cleaner and go to town. However it was electronically triggered and due to the power outage they weren’t going to activate themselves anytime soon. Leo slowly scanned the walls for the access panel that would let him manually deploy the system. He should have known where it was but he went ahead and blamed the crash and snow for throwing him off. Finding it opened the panel with his good hand and turned the air valve, increasing pressure in the system, before pulling the handle to realize the powder.
There was a loud pop then white everywhere. Leo shook his head trying to get some of the powder off his hat and out of his hair. It hadn’t taken care of all the fire but hopefully it brought it down to manageable levels. He started brushing off his overalls.
“What the hell do we do know?” He grumbled brushing off his right shoulder. The density felt wrong, thicker as he did so and he looked down. There was a large dark spot slowly expanding down his arm and some of the powder had absorbed the liquid.
“Crap.” On the bright side he found the leak.

Agari coughed and tried to fan all the white powder in the air away from his face. The stuff was supposed to be non-toxic, but still, it couldn't be too healthy to breath it in. "What do we do now?" Agari said, repeating the question that had been asked. He was feeling much calmer now that he had been forced to take a moment to recollect himself. "Now, I guess we just help whoever we can."
Agari went back to helping the people who needed it, but after a couple minutes another thought occurred to him. "Actually, maybe a better idea would be to send a couple people to find help. I'm pretty sure we are on a planet..."
Since he was currently on the bridge, Agari went over to the navigator's station and looked at the display. "Yeah, we are definitely on a planet. An inhabited one too. Whoever lives here can probably help us. I would be willing to go, I guess, since I'm not too injured to travel."
Agari really did not want to be one of the people to leave the ship, but if someone was going to, it made sense for him to go. Especially since he could grow his own food supplies if it came down to it.

Tamrin coughed a little as she came to. Everything around her was hazy and she didn't know if that had to do with her vision or with the flickering lights and smoke she could smell. Either way the situation wasn't good.
She tried to sit up only to feel her shoulder wrench in the attempt. She would have let out a gasp of pain but she didn't seem capable of it. Instead it came out as a slight wimper as she let herself fall back to a flat position. Her head was being cushioned by something behind her and she tried to turn to see what it was but she couldn't twist around enough to do so without hurting.
Someone noticed her struggling and came over to help. At the moment she couldn't remember if she knew him or even tell who it was really. All she could make out was a voice asking something about toes before she felt two hands grip her shoulders and lift her off the floor. She nearly passed out again as the broken ribs and dislocated shoulder made themselves known and she had to lean heavily on the man as he helped her out of the control room which apparently was on fire. She noticed the flickering out of the corner of her eye right before the man helping her yelled it. She winced away from the sound but it was the least of her pains.
When they'd made it out into the hallway Tamrin decided it was a good idea just to collapse against a wall and sit for a while. She couldn't really tell what was wrong with her and she didn't want to make anything worse by moving. Around her the others talked about escape plans and that's when their situation started to come back to her.
She remembered the pirates that had chased them, trying to avoid their fire. She'd taken down their fighter pilot's ship but the main ship had gotten them. She remembered cursing and trying to steer them somewhere safe when the captain made the call to run only to see another ship show up on their scanners.
"The planet," Tamrin muttered to herself. "The damn planet." She'd remembered it showing up on their scanners, a large gravity well pulling them right in. She'd even remembered when they'd gotten close enough to see it through the windows. When it came to planets that was too close. But nothing could be done at that point. The ship was too damaged to really steer. She'd done her best, she knew that. But a roomful of corpses was testament to the fact that her best had not been enough.
Angry and hurt she turned her attention back to the conversation around her and snapped at the first available target. "That's a stupid idea. These fuckers tried to shoot us down or am I the only one that remembers."

Leo narrowed his eyes at Agari’s idea. He wasn’t a fan but he wasn’t seeing a lot of options. Besides to get out they had to go down and his room was on a lower level as well. Getting his tools and supplies was quickly approaching his first priority. Having an excuse to go to the lower levels just made life easier. Maybe on the way down he could look in on the engines again.
“I remember,” he raised an eyebrow at the new member of the conversation, “Very well thank you. Personally I wanna get off the traceable wreckage before the locals come to finish the job. But if you want to greet them with sweets or something, be my guest.”
He shrugged with his good shoulder and shook more of the powder out of his hair. Keeping close to the side he avoided the wreckage and walked back out into the hall. Climbing down the ladder was slightly harder than going up but then again he didn’t have the added incentive of figuring out what the hell was going on.

"Shot us down...?" Agari muttered to himself. He honestly didn't know. But that certainly accounted for the alarms that had gone off earlier and was a logical reason for why they were now poorly docked on a planet. Or crash-landed, as the case seemed to be.
Agari was about to concede his plan when Leo brought up another good point. While they couldn't exactly go for help, they couldn't really just stay here either. So he modified his original plan to better suit the circumstances.
"I think... this guy, is right. We can't stay on the ship if people are going to hunt us down." Agari was on the brink of becoming hysterical, but managed to retain control over his emotions by reminding himself that logically it was best to stay calm in this situation. There would be time for hysteria later.
"Maybe one group could go out and search for a safe place for everyone to move to while everyone else rounds up the injured crew and prepares supplies and stuff." Agari looked to see what they thought of that plan, but at the same time was being distracted by nervous thoughts of spaceships swooping in and incinerating them.
