Cultural Upbringing:
Leo was created for the purpose to entertain the guests at a Kessep resort and do as he was told. Not only does he find this insulting he doesn’t believe that just because that’s what he’s supposed to do that he has too.
Physical Description:
Standing at 6’ 2” Leo enjoys the comfort of being able to reach most shelves. Being leaning most people underestimate his strength, which he is more than happy with. His skin is pigmented evenly and in the right lighting appears plastic. Leo usually wears a plain shirt and jeans, jacket if he feels pressed or in a cold environment. Not that the temperature effects him, it’s more an effort to blend in.
Leo’s features are based on that of popular actor of Asian descent in the inner planets, just altered enough to avoid lawsuits. Such alterations include blonde hair and green eyes. Since leaving Kessep he began dyeing both only to discover something in his hair and eyes slowly eats away at the dye, though thankfully it does it evenly. Thus Leo’s hair is usually a reddish brown or black just after dyes, eyes, a light brown typically. This makes him less likely to be found by his former owners but more likely to be mistaken for a celebrity.
Personality:
Leo is generally doesn’t go out of his way to socialized. His experiences on Kessep left him with a distaste for people in general, but he has found that individuals are palatable at times. While cynical of most of the time he does tend to break up his general ways occasionally with humor. This humor is typically inappropriate, morbid and mocking but if it makes him laugh, he’s happy with it.
While working on machines or repairing things Leo tends to isolate himself. He is still aware o what is going on around him he responds to others with grunts or facial expressions. Leo takes great pride in being able to fix just about anything even if others question his sanity and intelligence while repairing the items.
The one thing that frustrates Leo the most is not doing anything or not doing anything he deems useful. As annoyed as he may seem by other things, this is the only gets to the core of him. A factor in this is that sitting around makes him feel useless. In turn if he sees someone being excessively lazy any possible respect he had for them is lost. He doesn’t understand how anyone could live in such a way.
History:
In an effort to bring in more business, and save some cash in turn, Kessep Waters Resort decided to employ androids instead of human staff members for a number of the jobs on site. Guests won’t have to worry about staff wooing them in hopes of social climbing, the novelty of being waited on by androids, and the resort wouldn’t have to pay salaries or give breaks. At first the cost of replacing staff was painful but thankfully the return on the investment was more than enough and Kessep Waters even went so far as to purchase a second round.
Leo, or at the time Adam Connor, was part of this second round. Same day as arriving on Kessep he was put to work serving drinks to guests. He discovered very quickly that he hated his job and it disturbed him that his siblings didn’t have similar attitudes. Seeing no other explanation he attributed the mindset as either a glitch in his learning program or base personality. For a while he believed that his destiny was sealed and tried to suck it up. After a few years of being treated horribly by guests, staff and living in Stepford, Leo planned his break. When the chance came stole the clothing and id of an off planet guest and took his flight off.
Off Kessep Leo changed his name and appearance taking odd jobs to stay functioning. He eventually found that he greatly enjoyed working and repairing machines. Anything from a toaster to an engine of a space craft, he could fix with enough time and if given the opportunity to learn how. Shortly after learning as much as he could left his first employer and got a job on a ship. This began the trend of switching ships at ports and planets, either because he had been on too long or suspicious were raised about his humanity.
RP Sample:
“Leo!” came a gruff voice. From beneath the engine he let out a groan before rolling out from underneath. He stood and dusted off his pants, watching the speaker descend down the wire staircase into the engine room.
“Yes captain?” Leo said to the short balding man.
“Why are we still running at half power?” He demanded.
Clenching his jaw he looked down his nose before continueing, “Because repairs aren’t finished yet and if we go back to full power the ship will explode and you will all die.”
The captain’s faced turned red and shook, “What’s taking so long? It you didn’t take this long last time!”
“That was eight months ago,” Leo explained slowly, “and I told you we needed to replace several of the components or the engine would break down in less than a year.”
Leo had performed a number of miracles on board including that particular occasion. Keeping it in the air at all was another. Dealing with the captain probably counted too. There was three right there, in certain cultures didn’t that call for Sainthood?
“Tell you wait,” he turned back to the engine, “I’ll finish up here and then you can find a new punching bag.” Leo dropped back down under the engine and prepared to get back to work. Upon seeing the captain’s feet get closer to his he twisted open a valve releasing steam in the man’s direction. After a sharp yelp he saw the man retreat and heard the man rush back up the stairs. Just two days til they docked again he told himself.
