I just realized we don't have a "Get to know you!" thread! WE MUST HAVE A "GET TO KNOW YOU!" THREAD! Tell us about yourself; that's all you have to do, and I'll happily go first. ^_^

My name is Nick. I turn 19 next February and I'll be attending my first year of college later this fall. I intend to study computer science in hopes of landing a job in game design. I have applied to several schools, one of which has already accepted me (Bradley University) though I'm still waiting on the others. I am usually very bad at describing myself, but people tell me I'm smart, nice, and funny. I enjoy videogames, anime, manga, mythology, that sort of stuff. I've been out of the closet as gay for four years now.

I started roleplaying when I was about 12 or 13. I've always been a bit of a grammar nazi, rarely resorting to netspeak except in hurried texts or as a joke. I've considered writing but I tend to be rather trite; I just don't give all the details necessary for a good story and I'm really bad at developing the kind of settings I want. I just get to the point too quickly.

Inspiration for Daxen came from several things. His affinity for ecology comes from me taking an AP Bio class. His naivety comes from how I view myself at times. His shadow manipulation comes from fanboying over Shikamaru from Naruto. As for Shia Labeouf, I honestly did not know who the hell he was (I haven't seen Transformers) and just thought, "Wow...he looks adorable!" which is how I wanted Daxen to be viewed.

Hi all, for those I’m not familiar with, I’m Mariah. I’m in my second semester of my first year of college, majoring in exercise science. I’d like to think I’m rather clever and I’ve been told I’m sarcastic. I have mild ADHD and a bit of OCD, fair warning. Also I enjoy making somewhat obscure pop culture references and laughing at my own dumb jokes.

I’ve only roleplaying since last April, but now I’m on three different sites. I enjoy writing and drawing but not particularly good at either. Researching is probably my favorite part of making a character, almost to the point of obsession.

Deux, I’m not sure exactly where he came from. He evolved from a character idea I had for another site and from my love of science fiction in general. I also wanted to challenge myself to write a different personality type other than perky or sarcastic. Over time I came to view him as a Pinocchio type character. As for the power negation, I’m not really at liberty to say at the moment.

My other character Leo was much simpler. 1. The site allows androids and unless someone is keeping a secret I haven’t seen any. 2. His personality is inspired by Silent Bob.

If you ever have any questions/comments/complaints, please let me know. First of all, I love communication but I also love hearing what I don’t want to hear. Nothing annoys me more than people being annoyed at me and not saying anything. Other than that I’m pretty much water off the ducks back.

Hi all. My name is Loki Gabriel. That's first and middle and I mention them both because I'm known by them both. I prefer Gabriel but the difference of preference is about the difference between my love of brownies and my love of cookies. They are both good. So call me by either.

I'm 20 (21 on March 9th woot!) and I'm a junior at NYU. I study Film at Tisch, don't like it much, so now I'm on to studying Philosophy and Law and Society. I'm most interested in people and why and how people work in groups. Not the scientific side, like with Psychology or Sociology, but the more practical and emotional side as it is shown in the study of politics, societies, law and legal systems, philosophy and in character creation. You may have noticed I love creating interesting societies and political situations as much as I love creating interesting characters. I hope and, on a good day have faith, that somehow I will mesh all my interests together to create a living.

Kaden comes from one idea and then a lot of other ideas got added to it. I used to, and still do, love tortured and dark characters so I wanted to challenge myself and try to play a white knight type. He's my white knight type. Later, as I developed Takatifu, his back story started to come together though that culture has its own origins and Kaden was adapted to fit it.

Sanaa, however, came from my work with Takatifu. I was developing the male side of the culture and I wanted to explore the female side of it, plus, I wanted a woman that was stubborn as hell and still managed to look like she was bowing to everyone's will.

I'm with Mariah, definitely open to communication and let me know if I'm doing something you don't like. Would rather hear it than hear about it or just have you glare in my general direction...

Oh, and I'm trans. FTM specifically. And I'm really open about my character's sexuality. I've played straight and gay men and women. The hardest ones are straight women because I've never been one of those, but I look forward to the challenge that Sanaa poses. Anyway, so no one ever has to worry about me getting offended or anything.
