Important Announcement - Please read

I apologize that this is coming out of nowhere. I'm starting up at a new University come Monday, and I don't feel like I will be able to keep up with this site anymore. I will be leaving the site (both as the character Greg and the Admin). Feel free to NPC Greg in the latest major storyline, and do whatever to get him out of it (kill him off, have him disappear, escape, etc.).

As for who will be Admin. If someone wants to take up the mantle and be the admin of this site, then feel free to post here. I'm going to talk to the site's original creator, and see what will happen. If no one steps up (say within a couple weeks), the site will most likely be put into maintenance mode according to what the original creator wanted. Again, sorry, and I hope you all have a great 2010.

Hey all,

So it looks like we all still want to play but no one has time to be a full time admin (including me). But the site doesn't seem like it needs a really hands on admin watching it all the time. So why don't we just share adminship? Instead of having just one or two, have three or four. Anyone who expressed interest but had time constraints. I think if I knew there were other admins to pick up the slack if I had a really busy week or something I'd be much more willing to step into that role.

However, if you guys don't like this idea, I wanted to know if I could use Exodus to write? As most of you probably know, I created Takatifu and it's culture and such. And I've fallen for it so I will almost certainly end up writing about it. But, now that we've gotten into the RP a bit, I've fallen for the entire world and definitely some of the characters and some of the relationships I see developing. And because Exodus is an original RP, as in not based on a fandom, whatever we write here could actually be sold if it were ever put into a book form.

So that is what I was hoping to do. I don't have time to write right now. But I'm thinking of taking a year off after graduation to sit down and really get some of this on paper. Right now my idea for Exodus kind of goes like this:

It's a series of books. Each book focuses on one character and it follows them in the present but also finds a way to go into their past. Hopefully each character is from a different planet and each planet will have a unique culture and history. In the present each book will progress the meta plot (what happened to Earth and why do we have these powers?). The first book would be Kaden's since I have his story the most plotted out. It would cover the backstory currently being written up in Growing Up Safi and mix it with some of the threads happening on the Laika but most importantly the plot arc we are currently playing out in It's Not Chance, It's Destiny and This is Not a Test (which will move the metaplot forward if we play it out to the end). Not sure who the next book would belong to. I have some vague plot ideas for Greg, Deux and Tamrin but nothing completely solid yet.

Anyway, I don't want to go off without permission. Not even sure if I could legally. And even if I could I think that's just underhanded. So I was hoping to, not only get the blessing of the players here and the original creator, but also to collaborate with a lot of you and learn more about your character's backstory and more about the ideas you had for the planets you created (for those of you that created planets).

So to wrap up this overlong post, anyone want to volunteer for a joint adminship? I think we need an odd number so 3 or 5. And hopefully you'll all post your thoughts concerning the book ideas.

I'd have to think of joint adminship, though it's a great idea and obviously spreading out the workload helps out a lot. ^^

*Hands blessing* Use Dax if you want him. :3 I often consider writing, but I know enough of my weaknesses to know I wouldn't be very successful, so you doing it sounds really awesome to me.

Like Dax said, the joint admin thing would be a lot easier and the thought of having someone watching the site every other day is better.

I don't mind the book thing just so long as you tell me when they come out. I wouldn't mind reading them once they are finished. It would be really interesting to see how it comes out, so feel free to use Richard in them.

Kaden, you are free to use Agari Coid, Harry Tique (aka. Bartelby), the NPC Patsey, and any other characters I happen to think up. Your story sounds like it could be very interesting.

And I think the admin idea is a good one. I wouldn't mind volunteering for one of the positions as long as there are others to fill in when I'm not there.

I haven't heard back from the original creator yet. I don't know her view on this yet, but the idea of multiple admins sounds fine to me. Is there anybody else that wants to step up? If so, speak up. Otherwise, I'll give those who volunteered the adminship.

As for using Greg for writing books, I don't really care if he's used. Go ahead.
