Population Levels: Moderate-to-high population. Cities are very populated, but well designed so that they do not “feel” cramped.
Standard of Living: Though there is definitely a difference between the elite and the majority, poverty on Earth has all but been eliminated.vMost individuals fall under a middle or upper-middle class status.
Main Export: Earth is a cultural Mecca, so its economy is mostly based around tourism, as well as funding from some of the most wealthypatrons in the galaxy (human and non-human alike). Artists come to Earth to have their work commissioned by the government, religious leaders come to study ancient religious texts, alien species are hosted as ambassadors, political prisoners and oppressed citizens escape here to find a haven from persecution.
Relation to the Central Government: Mostly, Earth is independent, despite being the planet that most Core planets are physically located around, and seem to try to emulate (at least in appearances). Earth does not extradite political prisoners or those seeking asylum, which often frustrates other planetary governments—though no planet is stupid enough to challenge Earth outright in a political, much less military, battle. As corrupt as many governments may seem to be, every Core planet seems to respect Earth, and holds it as an ideal to be strived for (even when its policies can’t be replicated in other places).
Religion: Every major human religion is represented here, as well as most of the non-major ones as well. Religious freedom, along with freedom of speech and expression, is one of the paramount civil rights on Earth. Even some alien races have established religious sites in the major cities.
Other History: The disappearance of Earth caused the massive panic that led to all-out confrontations across humanity.
General Planet Climate: Sunny, but the entire planet is covered in water. Kessep is very similar to Ortho in climate, often considered Ortho's "rich twin sister."
Population Levels: Moderate.
Standard of Living: Exceptionally high. It takes a hefty amount of moolah to live on Kessep.
Main Export: None.
Relation to the Central Government: The people of Kessep are generally in favor of the UIR.
Religion: The only religion of note on Kessep is money.
Planetary Culture: Kessep is like a gated community. Only the wealthiest of the wealthy and their servants live on Kessep. Where on Kessep one has his or her estate is a matter of personal preference; some live on the sea in gigantic floating mansions, some live under the sea in gigantic underwater mansions, and some live in the sky, on gigantic flying mansions.
Other History: Kessep was once mined for salt at the bottom of the ocean. However, when the rich began moving in, the mines were shut down because of how they made the water murky.
General Planet Climate: It is a water-covered planet with only a couple very small islands. Minerals in the water give it an almost violet hue when looking at the view.
Population Levels: It has a moderate population.
Standard of Living: It is difficult to achieve a status other than middle class on the planet Ortho, but the middle class is very comfortable.
Main Export: The people on the planet think of themselves as exporters of laws and ideas, but most other people ignore them. It isn't that the people on Ortho don't have worthwhile ideas to contribute. It is just that there is too much red tape that they have to walk through to actually obtain the ideas.
Relation to the Central Government: The people of Ortho think that they fall in line with the established government above and beyond what is expected. They feel that it would be best if their planet ran the show, but are content with their current position. There is practically no rebellion found on Ortho.
Religion: There is an official state religion mostly structured around following and upholding the law. It teaches people to take the appropriate steps neccessary to maintain order, and to trudge on despite how pointless your task in life may seem.
Other History: Ortho was first established as a remote place to set up legal headquarters that would not be worth taking over for other reasons, due to the lack of dry land on the planet. It has since overgrown the confines of the land and now several large floating cities exist out on the ocean. A few places have established underwater cities as well, but people tend to shy away from those due to the sense of claustrophobia they exude.
Ortho has become a place of overbearing bureaucracy. While most things are technically legal, you have to fill out so many forms and such, that people are almost always dissuaded. People here tend to be bland and have a lot of pride for their planet.
General Planet Climate: Arid to varied. The atmosphere is usually dry and hot, but sometimes humid. During the winter it can get very cold in some places. The rich soil helps sustain heavy plant life (and some genetically engineered to survive tough patches) and some non-native wildlife in some of the areas with better weather. The planet was also later found to be rich in ores, and is currently one of the central planets in trading, exporting, and mining them. Although most of the past volcanoes are dormant or extinct, there are periodic times where they do erupt and cause havoc.
Population Levels: Moderate population. The drier areas of the planet--the ones that are hard to grow crops in--are mostly sparse in number, with deserty vegetation and cracked earth. There are a large amount of mining towns that have sprung up around the mining camps, only to be abandoned later down the road and turned into ghost-towns when the vein runs dry. The more habitable, beautiful areas of the planet (more vegetation, nice weather, abudant water, and richer soil) are well populated and civilized, and sometimes viewed as an interesting vacation destination.
Standard of Living: Because the planet is getting rich off of its mining endeavours, the planet's population is generally very wealthy and well off in the larger cities. There are some nice vacation spots that some of the more powerful people can afford to visit. The miners, however, are usually poorly treated working class citizens or--in some of the more distant, out-lying areas--illegal slaves. The smaller towns and cities are usually poorer, as most of the population and wealth go towards the bigger, more well-known cities.
Main Export: Their main export are raw materials such as ores and metals. There is also a black market demand for slaves, and you can fetch a high price on this planet selling them (the government is rumored to look the other way with these transactions--it's certaintly not a business that you can openly deal). Many times citizens of the planet itself--if they wander too far into the fringes ofcivilization--are kidnapped and forced to work as bond-slaves in the far-off mines. There is an almost frantic fever to dig out the valuable ores in the planet--which might be quickly exhausted if the government didn't step in and regulate it.
Relation to the Central Government: The planet is pretty much in line with the established government. However there is some tension--some of the seedier businesses attract criminals to the poorer towns, and the citizens frequently complain about it. Those towns are generally left to fend for themselves. Because of the wealth generated by this planet, the government frequently turns a blind eye to some of the bad business that goes on here.
Religion: State religion holds in the more populated cities, though is not enforced on the population. In the smaller mining towns and cities, the religion is more basic and simplified, without as many ornate, ritual elements.
Other History: In the far past, the planet had a violent history of volcanoes and earthquakes, initially leaving the planet's surface arid and hot. Later, the world cooled and the volcanoes became increasingly dormant. Mountains sometimes crowd in thick clusters across the giant continents, with sparse oceans of water scattered around the world. After it was terraformed, the soil was found to be very rich and more of the underground water was able to be discovered, unearthed, and redirected to colonies.
Planet Location: Core Planet
General Planet Climate: Filled with very shallow seas and many many islands. Land and water are almost interchangeable. Specific ecosystems vary by region.
Population Levels: A small civilian presence. A large military presence.
Standard of Living: There is not a very big divide among inhabitants. Any divide is mostly determined by your rank.
Main Export: Military men and supplies of all types.
Relation to the Central Government: As far as policies are concerned, Pelago is the central government. That is, they follow the rules to the strictest degree possible.
Religion: Religion is unofficially frowned upon, but most are tolerated.
Planetary Culture: Overall, the people of Pelago do everything they can to support and aid the UIR. They practically eat, sleep, and breathe military protocol. People openly opposed to the UIR are treated unkindly and often with open hostility.
Other History: Pelago tarted as a simple training ground, but quickly grew into a fully militarized planet. Most of the civilians on the planet are either the family of people on duty, contractors who have been hired for various tasks, or merchants trying to make money off of the resident forces
