Cultural Upbringing: Agari has been taught to always be polite and respectful. He has genrally followed that pattern his whole life, although not perfectly. Everyone has their moments. He has been taught that if you are shoved, then shoving back is not always the best answer. You should always try to avoid unnecessary confrontations. Because of this, Agari has become somewhat timid and is easily intimidated. He isn't afraid of talking to strangers, but he won't randomly strike up a conversation either.
Physical Description: Agari is pale from having lived the majority of his life underground. He has brown hair and dark green eyes. He is the type of person who looks like he was always picked on in high school. If there is any visual hint that he is in any way athletic, you need a microscope to find it.
Agari does not care much about fashion, so seeing him in trendy clothes would be pure chance on his part. He likes his clothes to be clean when he puts them on, but doesn't mind getting slightly dirty throughout the day. Science can be messy, after all. When he buys new clothing he buys simple, cost-effective articles, since he usually doesn't have a lot of extra cash to spare.
Personality: Agari is very scientificly minded and is always in the persuit of credible knowledge. He has found that he has a knack for understanding biology and some of its related feilds. Where he has really excelled, however, is in deriving chemicals and such from wild fungi.
In school Agari was sort of a loner. He had a few friends, but never made an effort to make more. He is usually content to be alone with his projects. And he usually has a project that he is working on. Usually having to do with growing something or another.
After getting accepted for his internship on a spacecraft, Agari became slightly more independent out of necessity. He managed to become more comfortable around unfamiliar people and unfamiliar places. However, Agari would still classify himself as someone who prefered to stay out of the commotion if it can be helped.
History: Agari grew up in the tunnels on Glace Au Four among family and friends. He lived a fairly normal life up until he went to college. There he discovered his true passion for biology. He liked animals, but it was plants and fungi that really captured his interests. He eventually decided to become a mycologist, since there were many varieties of fungi in the caves where he lived.
During the last year of his college career, Agari managed to be one of the luck few people who were able to obtain an internship aboard a space-faring vessel. On the ship he would work alongside a true expert in the field of biology who had studied plants, animals, fungi, and others sorts of life all over charted space.
Agari was aboard this ship when Earth disappeared. When the news reached them, most of the people on board, including Agari, couldn't believe their ears. It wasn't until their vessel was commandeered by the military that the true gravity of the situation sunk in. Earth was really gone.
Agari was practically stranded and far from his home on an unfamiliar planet (Their ship's nonessential crew was let off at the nearest spaceport). From there he tried to find a ride that would take him back home, but he had very little money and his home planet was not a popular destination. He ended up having to take a low-paying job on a ship just so he could make enough money to eat. He is trying to save up for a trip home, but the life of a space farer is also starting to grow on him.
RP Sample: Agari was thrilled to be on the surface. And cold. It was a lot colder up here than he remembered. The last time he had left the caves was when he was eight. Now 11 years later, the experience was just as spectacular as the first time.
He was here for a school trip to observe the Golden Glaciers of Glace Au Four. The glaciers weren't actually gold, but just appeared to be because of a yellow algae that managed to survive on the ice. This algae was also one of the few plant-like organisms native to the planet. Which is why it was such a big deal for their botany class to visit this place.
"Hurry up and get a sample into your test tube, then we can head back to the observation shelter," their instructor informed them. Agari didn't waste any time. He was anxious to get an even closer view. If only he could have brought a microscope with...
"There you go. Into your new home to be studied," he said to the yellow goop as he prodded it into his container. "I can't wait to find out how much chloroplast you got." Agari turned and headed back to the observation shelter to get out of the cold. His mind was already getting lost in thought over all the tests he would get to do on his specimen over the next few weeks. Exciting!
