Profession (Current): Bioengineer, Heir-Apparent to Drago Matriarch
Profession (Past): Bioengineer or Genegineer for short.
Marital Status: Unmarried
Home World: Takatifu
Religious Beliefs: Sanaa does not believe in any specific god exactly but there are certain natural aspects of the world that are considered more in tune with a woman's nature. Water for instance. Women should strive to be like a water in all its forms. It's ability to always return to a state of calm or its ability to slide past the obstacles in its path without being deeply affected. There is a seemingly endless list of elements of the natural world that Sanaa has been raised to admire.
Socioeconomic Status: Sanaa is very wealthy in terms of the Safi. This would not translate very well into monetary wealth off Takatifu since it is tied up in jewelry, clothing and land. Her income isn't very liquid, she could not walk down a street and buy something expensive, but all the trappings of her lifestyle are very fine.
Cultural Upbringing: Sanaa was raised to believe that everyone and everything has its rightful place in the world. To fulfill one's role in society and in the greater world was the most honorable thing that a person could do.
Her role in life was to be perfect or as close as humanly possible and she has spent most of her life perfecting everything from the smallest movements, such as a hand gesture or the pouring of tea, to the most important skills of her occupation as a Genegineer. Sanaa does not just like perfection, she requires it and anything less would dishonor her and her entire House.
Further more she was raised to believe that serenity was the most important indication of inner strength. To be able to remain calm, level headed and polite in any situation is the true sign of a strong and perfect woman. She has never questioned this.
To expand on this concept one's personal appearance is very important. It signals one's ability to maintain a stable lifestyle through any trial that life throws your way. And this concept infinitely expands to include one's home, one's family, one's work, one's House and, finally, one's planet.
Physical Description: Sanaa stands about 5'6'' and is rather slight. She has a very thin build and delicate features. If anyone gets a close look at her body they might notice some sleek, dancer muscle but even that is not serious and does not add much to her figure.
Her skin goes from a light brown, almost cream color, in the winter or when kept from natural sunlight, to a darkish caramel color during the summer. Her eyes are a dark brown and the natural texture of her hair is very curly and thick but she often straightens it or braids it or does whatever the situation requires. She often wears it in elaborate hair styles that are pinned up by expensive clips, hoops and sticks.
Sanaa is almost never seen outside of expensive clothing made out of the finest materials and custom made to fit her. Her jewelry is a mixture of family heirlooms that have been passed down to her and custom made trinkets that she hopes to pass on to her own daughters one day.
She is often seen wearing an unreadable but serene expression that invites one to start a polite conversation but not to pry. Her movements are graceful, a side effect of her training as a dancer. In fact, she was forced to take dancing training simply to achieve that result.
She almost never meets anyone's gaze directly and has learned to artfully hide her confident nature behind a mask of demure submissiveness. Her voice is always quiet and others have to strain to hear it, an intentional choice on her part to make sure those around her are paying attention.
In short, Sanaa is a work of art. Crafted by her teachers and her culture to be the perfect ideal of a Safi woman. All women are trained and molded into this model but Sanaa is exceptional even among her own kind, something she has always been proud of and never questioned.
Personality: Sanaa's defining characteristic would have to be how proud she is and that pride often causes her to be very stubborn. This is hidden extremely well but Sanaa di'Drago is determined to have her way. She skims along the line of being spoiled but doesn't quite cross it, at least not often. She does not believe she is owed anything simply because of who she is. Everything she wants she must work for and she will work for it until she has it.
Despite the carefully crafted soft-spoken and passive veneer Sanaa does not bend to other's will easily. It can make her extremely hard to get along with or love. And it can make her blind to better options if she is convinced that she knows what the correct answer is.
She is also not easily forgiving. Once she has been angered she holds a grudge so long that you might as well just make it an official stance. It is not necessarily easy for others to earn her scorn but once they have it is hard to get her to respect your opinion again. Of course you might not notice that since she will be polite and even friendly with you either way.
Getting her to express anything very openly is nearly impossible. She has learned to control and channel her emotions so much that she has often been accused of not feeling them. She does, they are just buried very deep. Every expression that can be seen by others is normally something manufactured for the occasion.
History: Sanaa di'Drago was born into the Drago House to Niomi da'Drago and Carmi ka'Drago, formerly Carmi kai'Lupo. She was never exactly close to either parent though they appreciated their child. Seeing potential for something better (Niomi and Carmi were not very wealthy) they hoped she would rise to greater heights once she entered training at the age of seven.
And she did. Sanaa impressed all her teachers. She quickly absorbed any skill they endeavored to teach her and thirsted for more. She was singled out to one day take on one of the most important jobs a Safi could hold, that of a Genegineer, a person in direct control of not only the blood lines of her own family but that of the species they protected.
Later Sanaa's success caught the eye of Kezia da'Drago, the Drago matriarch. Kezia took Sanaa under her wing and became more of a mother to the young woman than her birth mother was. Sanaa often turned to Kezia for advice and guidance and Kezia was happy to supply it. She had finally found a woman who she trusted enough to take over Drago when she stepped down.
When Sanaa was 19 she attended a fair held in Dragon's Lair, the city of the Drago House that she had never travelled outside of, at Kezia's side. Fairs were important political events and often they were attended by some of the most high ranking men of other Houses who were escorting their young kais around. Kezia hoped that Sanaa would learn about dealing with these allies but she also hoped that a young kai would catch Sanaa's eye. While 19 was not an extremely advanced age Sanaa was the heir and she should be getting married within the year.
Yet the Drago matriarch did not want to force a marriage on the young woman. Largely because, knowing Sanaa's nature very well, she doubted such a pairing would last long if it she was convinced to go through with it at all. But mostly it was because Kezia cared about Sanaa's happiness. Her first husband would be her Consort if she did inherit the House and as such he would be the first person she turned to. Underneath the practicality all Safi women and especially Drago's were taught to value Kezia was a bit of a romantic. She wanted Sanaa to find someone she cared for.
Well she didn't, not that day, but Sanaa was taken to more and more fairs and eventually she did find someone she thought she respected enough to marry (she did not give much thought to love, only the potential he had to compliment her life and her role in the Drago House, or at least that is what she told herself.)
But the marriage did not last. Sanaa was forced to dissolve it six years later. Since then she has thrown herself into her work as a Genegineer, making vast improvements in skill and knowledge in a short amount of time. Her superiors, at least her professional superiors, are very happy with her progress. But Kezia worries about Sanaa's ability to inherit the House. She can not do so until she marries and has a child, therefore proving her ability to carry on the House's bloodline in the most direct way, and Sanaa has not shown an interest in either since the ending of her first marriage.
She makes excuses and says that she is waiting for the right time or the right person but Kezia wonders if she has really recovered from her past.

Luce looked up at the sky as the rain clouds covered the moon and stars she had turned to for solace. A low rumbling came to her across the rooftops and drops began to hit her face and the arms which she had pulled up around her knees. She should have moved, and she would in a moment, but she wanted to be free of what this day had brought her and somewhere, buried deep in Luce's heart, the romantic side of her nature welcomed the cleansing touch of the rain.
She closed her eyes as the drops came more frequently. Some of them caught on her eyelashes and as she blinked the water away it ran down her face in little streams like tears.
She welcomed the feeling. She would have given anything to be able to cry right now, to just let it all go, to let the pain in so that it could begin to heal. But she couldn't cry. The barriers she had so painstakingly built to protect herself from the outside world now trapped her. So the sky provided the tears she couldn't shed.
She opened her eyes but there were no stars to see now, no moon. The sky was a uniform dark gray and the quiet of the night that she had so often sought peace in was broken constantly by the sound of far off thunder. Though it wouldn't be far off for long if she was any judge of storms.
How had so much trouble come from the stars she loved so much? So much pain. And so much joy.
